Protect Yourself! - November

Protect yourself with renter's insurance. You are already approved! As a renter, it's important for you to realize that Home Properties has insurance that covers our buildings, but not your personal property. You need renter's insurance to protect your furniture, clothing, electronics, and anything else in your apartment from loss or damage due to a fire, water damage, or theft. Accidents can happen, and we want you to be protected!

Renter's insurance is not expensive. For a very reasonable premium, you can:
Insure your personal property. Protect yourself against personal liability. Obtain assistance if your residence is damaged.

Enrollment is easy-you can purchase a policy online in about ten minutes, or you can call and speak with an agent who can answer any questions you might have.

Flu Prevention - November

Take action steps to protect yourself against the flu:
1. Take time to get vaccinated.
*CDC recommends a yearly season flu vaccine as the first and most important step in protecting against seasonal flu.
2. Take everyday preventive actions.
*Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
*Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
*Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after your cough and sneeze. Germs spread this way.
*Try to avoid close contact with sick people.
3. Take flu antiviral drugs if recommended.
* Antiviral drugs can make your illness milder and make you feel better faster. They may also prevent serious flu complications.
*For treatment, antiviral drugs work best if started within the first 2 days of symptoms.

Centers for Disease Control & Prevention estimates that 80% of all cold and flu infections are transmitted by hands!
